[For IITians] How to get No dues

For all of those who are in the process of getting no dues.
Getting no dues will take at least 2 days and more if you don't know about all the forms that has to be filled. Here are some steps to ease your burden:

1. Remember there are 3 main places you need to go
a. DOAA office(UG office for dual degree students)
b. DOSA office
c. Department office
2. First of all, fill the online no dues form once you have submitted your thesis. Online clearance takes some time.
After your defence:
3. You will have to get the following forms from:
a. Convocation form (DOAA office)
b. Thesis expenditure reimbursement form to get Rs. 750 (DOAA)
c. Contingency form to get Rs. 1000 (DOAA)
d. Parents stay form for convocation (DOSA)
c. Rs 2000 hostel caution money refund form from DOSA (to my knowledge this is not the same as the Rs.2000 that you will get from the hostel mess)
d. Last scholarship form, if any (Department office)
e. Hall no dues form(Hall office)
f. Alumnus form (Alumni office)
4. Now, first of all get your thesis bound. one copy for guide, one copy for self and one copy for dept (some dept also take cds).
5. Submit the thesis online to the library. Link is http://172.28.64.70:8080/dspace Remember to set no proxy for 172.28.64.70 This may take one working day to be processed.
6. Submit your health booklet to ID cell. Then only they will give you no dues online. (This no dues will not mean that your i-card is deactivated. It will still work in library etc.)
7. See for any other no dues appearing in the list. If everything is all right then the only no dues should be that of
1. Institute Dues (Account Section)
2. Library
3. Dept. concerned
4. Thesis copy submitted to guide
5. Thesis copy submitted to dept. library
6. Hall No dues
If any thing else appears then contact the concerned section.
8. For account section no dues go to Sandhya ji in accounts section (bigger room opposite to the cash section)
Ask how much you need to submit, submit that amount and then show the receipt to Sandhya ji again.
9. Since you are in accounts section, also submit the convocation fee- Rs.100 (if attending)or Rs.200 (if not attending) [weird !! yeah it is]
9. For Library dues submit the money into the accounts section cash section itself and show the receipt in Library. There you may see a long scary form, but you only have to fill first entry in that.
10. Come to hall. Get the hall no dues form. Submit it to the mess to get sign of mess manger. Once they return it, get the signature of the HEC. Then, go the hall office, see your total bill, give them check or cash. They will give you receipt and update hall no dues
11. Once you get the thesis copies, give it the guide and the dept. library (hard or soft as required) and get no dues.
12. Now, once all the no dues part is over go to DOAA office PG section (even if you are a UG student). Get the print out of the no dues from D K Srivastave ji there and get his sign on it. Get 2-3 photocopies of the signed form.
13. Now, go to DOAA office UG (PG for MTech and Phd) section. Get and fill the convocation form. Submit the original no dues and 100 Rs. receipt along with this form to Sarkar ji. There will be a list with him in which you can check if your thesis defence report has reached DOAA office or not. If not, check with your dept.
14. Get the contingency form and thesis expenditure reimbursement form from DOAA office.
15. Go to DOSA office with other copies of the no dues form. Submit a copy of it along with the filled hostel caution money form. Also submit the parents stay form.
16. Submit a copy of the no dues to DRPG as well. The relevant room is in right side in DRPG section.
16. Come to your department. Submit the contingency form and thesis expenditure form there along with a copy of no dues. Also submit last scholarship form.
17. Finally, go to alumni office. Fill the alumnus form there and get your things.
Thatx all!!!!!
Remember to finally check your name in the list of students getting degree in convocation. It will be with Sarkar ji in DOAA.
